That's Not What I Heard by Stephanie Kate Strohm

Release Date: January 29, 2019

My Rating: 3 stars

Summary: What did you hear?

Kimberly Landis-Lilley and Teddy Lin are over. Yes, the Kim and Teddy broke up.

At least that's what Phil Spooner thinks he overheard and then told Jess Howard, Kim's best friend. Something about Teddy not liking Kim's Instas? Or was it that Teddy is moving to Italy and didn't want to do long distance? Or that Kim slid into someone else's DMs?

Jess told her boyfriend, Elvis, that he needs to be on Kim's side. Especially if he wants to keep her as his girlfriend. But Elvis is also Teddy's best friend.

Now, Kim's run out of school for the day. Jess is furious. Elvis is confused. And half the lunch period won't talk to Teddy. Even the teachers have taken sides.

William Henry Harrison High will never be the same again!

I'm so happy to be a part of this tour! Today my stop includes my review of That's Not What I Heard. Don't forget to check out the rest of the tour, schedule below, as well as a giveaway!

Just from the description, I knew that That's Not What I Heard was going to be a fun read. And it was! With a huge cast of students and teachers, this book follows how a rumor can get out of control and all the messes in between.

It was so interesting to see how rumors evolve in such a ridiculous manner. The way people spread what they've heard and maybe added to the gossip. The way everyone took sides was so funny; friends fighting friends, couples breaking up, sisters hating sisters. You really get invested in all of the very many subplots.

The multiple points of view were handled very well! And there were very many; I don't even think I could count them. I did think at some points, that it was a little excessive. Keeping of that many characters at first was a bit of a pain, and I didn't see the point at first. However, in the end, you can definitely tell that all of the characters are necessary to make all of the action happen.

I definitely think that most of my issues with this book was a personal thing; you might be more into this book than me! I will say that That's Not What I Heard was such a fun, fast read! If you're looking for something light to read, I would definitely recommend this book.
