**These are my own opinions, and I am not putting down people who enjoy these books. Please note that some of these are general impressions that I've held for over 5 years, so it's been a while since I've read a lot of these.**

popular series:
Wicked Lovely (2007)
- this series . . . was a mess
- but a good one
- genuinely don't remember a lot
- I remember totally shipping Aislinn with the Summer King . . . was I the only one
- my first instance of a love triangle ending with polyamory (although this was . . . quite messy)
- also I was like 11 so uhhh
- "Seth, sworn brother of the Dark King and heir to the High Queen" I totally forgot he got into their world
- I really only remember bare flashes of this series and I kinda want to know more
- also these covers are niceeeee tbh
Gone (2008)
- I was . . . kinda really into this series tbh
- the plot was interesting at least but
- uhhh the author turned out to be . . . not great
- ;sldjflkdsa I was like 12 when the last book came out
- there's both a birth scene and a sex scene
- that was . . . a lot to say the least
- I honestly couldn't tell you any specifics
- I think? I liked Diana and uhhh Astrid?
- oh yeah, they had powers
- what even happened at the end
- THE "GAIAPHAGE" BEING REBORN INTO DIANA AND CAINE'S CHILD
- WHAT WAS THIS
- oh fuck, and Caine and Sam turned out to be brothers (twins?)
- lowkey I'm about to look up plot summaries now bc I want to know what happens
Fallen (2009)
- did I finish this series
- did I
- I really don't remember
- see, I do think that I did finish it but
- I remember such little of it that it feels like I only read the first book
- what happens in the last three (3!!) books
- WAIT
- A FIFTH BOOK WAS PUBLISHED??
- I heard nothing about this, wow
- I knew that novella came out
- okay fr, I'm trying to gain any semblance of what the plot is but all of the book plots are so vague
- of course, this was Peak "broody, fallen angel" era in YA
- genuinely, I remember one (1) scene
- and I'm not entirely convinced that I'm not making it up
- uhhhh something about them being in a dark chapel but then some dark angels attack them? did that happen? is this just my general impression of the series?
- I would say, someone tell me what happens but I lowkey don't know if I want to reminisce
Hush, Hush (2009)
- speaking of the Peak "broody, fallen angel" era
- the bane of my existence
- fun fact: I usually don't buy books unless I've read them and liked them or I've read something else by that author and liked it (otherwise I check them out from the library)
- but I thought I'd be into this series
- so I bought the first two books
- short story short, now I adhere to the rule very strictly
- I know for a fact that I didn't finish this series
- I think I got to the last book?
- but I couldn't, for the life of me, remember anything that happened in the previous books so I was so lost
- also there was some glowing blue drink, that was some angelic equivalence of a steroid
- and I got fed up
- anyways
- how?? do people?? think that?? this is a good romance??
- I was like 12 and I could tell how toxic and unhealthy it was
- Patch was NOT A GOOD LOVE INTEREST
- I SAID IT
- also I don't think I remember anything else from this series
- maybe?? Nora and Patch?? in a room (in a bed?) while it's raining outside??
- that is both so specific yet so vague, so again, I don't know if this even happened or if I'm just making this up
- side note: what I remembered for Fallen . . . was it from this series?
Matched (2010)
- highkey don't think I finished this series either
- I got to the last book . . . I just didn't know what was happening
- so idk if I finished it
- guys.........what happened in this series
- I remember they were in the wilderness and there was a bombing
- but I didn't understand the significance of going outside of "civilization"
- what was the world building in this
- the summary for the last book is literally four sentences, WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS BOOK
The Iron Fey (2010)
- oh I was into this series
- I didn't read the spin-off series though bc I got bored
- remember how it wasn't supposed to end with the Ash book
- so she was literally just going to leave us with Meghan and Ash apart
- so sad
- I'm glad we got the last book
- this was actually such an interesting story like
- we have so many fairy/faerie stories but this author tied in the present world into it
- Ash, the original broody prince of my heart
Bloodlines (2011)
- I mean, everyone's read Vampire Academy but let's talk about this series!!
- the third and fourth books . . . were so good
- I mean, the TENSION
- although the last two books went off the rails tbh
- wasn't there talk of a spin-off of this series
- having something to do with how the last book ended (I remember like one (1) thing from the last book rip)
- lowkey . . . I would read it
The Selection (2012)
- this series was honestly the Bachelor, why
- I mean, if that's your thing
- but this series tried SO HARD to have a plot other than the romance(s)
- and there really wasn't anything else
- like she tried to bring in politics but it made no sense
- or past history through letters, and it literally had no effect on the current plot
- I want to say I got to the last book, but that would definitely only have happened bc I did a hate-read
- and . . . I probably did tbh
- this series really did make me so angry rip
Delirium (2012)
- I remember ppl being upset that the last book didn't end in -ium
- also no one liked the ending
- I actually thought it was good
- when so many series during this time had so many undeserved (I mean . . . not undeserved, but like,,,the events didn't really lead up to the ending we got) endings, having an open-ended one was nice
- also it made sense bc Lena wasn't the leader or a symbol of the rebellion
- she was just someone involved with it, not even at a high level
- anyways I will die on this hill
- lowkey tho . . . how we see Alex again . . . sad
- also how Julian went away was not the best way
- and I say this as someone who didn't much like Julian rip
